The sun certainly shone for the riders and spectators of the Prologue Time Trial and the start of the Tour de France, the greatest bike race on earth. It was amazing being one of the one million spectators who came to watch the race. We found a great spot in Hyde Park and cheered our guys home, including Bradley Wiggins who put in a brilliant time to finish fourth. Whilst I’ve seen the Tour on trips to France, it was amazing to see it closer to home. The tour is a big spectacle, from the publicity caravan throwing out caps and flyers to the helicopters hovering noisily above and finally the riders flying past at incredible speeds. It may be some time before the race returns to these shores, but for the crowds in London and the millions who lined the route of the first stage through Kent this was a fantastic experience. Vive Le Tour!
