Yesterday I attended the Ethical shopping at the crossroads: out of the niche and into the mainstream conference at the British Library Conference Centre in London. The event was organised by Co-operativesUK together with sponsors The Co-operative College, The Co-operative Bank and Ethical Consumer and was attended by over 170 people. The main topic debated was that as awareness of climate change and fair trade is at an all time high, is ethical consumerism on the brink of entering the mainstream and if so what are the implications? A range of experts and practitioners provided me with an opportunity to learn, debate, and question these important issues and I found it really well worth the visit.
