The National Trust is today launching a ‘Big Switch’ project to change 40,000 light bulbs across its historic houses, offices, shops, restaurants and holiday cottages to low energy alternatives.

This year’s national recycling week changes from ‘the BIG recycle’ to ‘Recycle Now Week’ – the national recycling campaign for England – and takes place from June 2 until June 8 2007.
Each day of this year’s campaign will highlight a different recyclable material – glass, plastic, paper, metals and organic garden waste.
