Over 30 representatives from worker co-operatives around the UK, including Total Coverage delegates, got together for a day of workshops and discussions at the end of June. A wide range of sessions from ‘Promoting your way out of recession’ to ‘Dealing with human resources issues’ took place. The ‘Effective meetings and reaching consensus’ session led by Mark Simmonds of Co-operativesUK was particularly well received. John Atherton, Worker Co-operative Development Officer at Co-operativesUK, who co-ordinated the event, said: “This is the first time we’ve run a Worker Co-operative Forum alongside Congress and we were very pleased with the feedback we received. We’re definitely hoping to run it again in future and for it to become a regular fixture at the annual Co-operatives event.”
