The Really Really Green Living Conference sponsored by the Co-operative Group will be held at Avenue St.Andrews Church, The Avenue, Southampton on Saturday 3 October 2009 from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Linda Bratcher from Total Coverage graphic design co-operative will be there, helping out on the sponsor’s stand, so why not come along?
The theme of the event is “What does it take to reduce our carbon footprint, both practically and politically?” The keynote address will be given by Chris Packham from BBC’s Springwatch. Chris Church from Climate Outreach and Information Network (COIN) will be leading workshops on working out our individual carbon footprints and how to reduce them, and getting political action to deal with climate change. The day will end with a question and answer session with a panel which will include Chris Packham, Alan Whitehead MP, Richard Barnett from New Forest Transition Towns, and Dr Mary Edwards from the University of Southampton.
There will be stalls run by local environmental and green campaigning groups and lunch and refreshments will be available. Entrance to the day will be free but donations will be appreciated.
