
Rights of Women (ROW) are very pleased to announce the publication of our latest legal handbook, Seeking Refuge? A handbook for asylum-seeking women. This vital resource explains the law that determines who is entitled to protection in the UK and how the asylum system works.
After working with ROW on the publication of their latest legal handbook, Total Coverage were thrilled to attend the launch on Thursday 26 November 2009 and lend further support. Over 50 people attended from various organisations that provide services, support and legal advice to Asylum-seeking women.
The evening commenced with a speech from Emma Scott, Director of Rights of Women. Followed by Mavis Makhaza, Chairwoman and founder member of Women Asylum Seeker Together, Debora Singer, Policy & Research Manager at Asylum Aid, Alison Harvey, General Secretary of ILPA and concluded with a talk from Joanne Davies, Programme Manager at Comic Relief UK who funded the research and publication of this handbook.
