Following the successful completion of the 2010 Annual Report, Total Coverage were once again commissioned to design, artwork and produce the St Martins Annual Report. Our brief this year was to capitalise on the success of the previous publication under the concept of ‘Expanding Horizons’. The publication highlights how St Martins have successfully expanded the services they offer and how they intend to expand further. Once again the document has been delivered on time and budget and has been well received by the target audience.
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice, on 11th November 1918, to signal the end of World War One.
At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years continuous warfare.
Remembrance Day is on 11 November. It is a special day set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other conflicts. At one time the day was known as Armistice Day and was renamed Remembrance Day after the Second World War.
It is one of the best known and supported campaigns in the calendar and each year the nation shows its support for the Legion’s work by giving generously to the Poppy Appeal.

The 2011 Poppy Appeal will launch in late October and we hope to raise more than our 2010 total of £36 million! Please give generously.

Aiming to raise awareness about adoption and recruit adoptive families for the 4,000 children who are currently in care waiting to be adopted.
Since its launch in 1997, National Adoption Week has gone from strength to strength, reaching people across the UK wanting to know if they can adopt.
The theme of the 2011 campaign was every child deserves a family. During the campaign we encourage people to come forward to adopt the children who wait the longest – older children, children with disabilities, brothers and sisters, and children from some black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
National Adoption Week is so important in reminding people about the backgrounds of the children waiting for adoption and the difference adoption can make to a child’s life. We know from existing adoptive families that it can be hard work, but the rewards are huge. This is a chance to transform a child’s life for ever.

The Campaign has created a new regard for the value of drawing to help people see, think, invent and take action.
The Campaign for Drawing has one aim: to get everyone drawing!
Why? Drawing helps us to think, invent and communicate – regardless of age and ability.
But we do not want just one day of celebration and then a return to “normal” life. When people get out of their cars, they should stay out of their cars. It is up to us, it is up to our cities, and our governments to help create permanent change to benefit pedestrians, cyclists, and other people who do not drive cars.
Let World Carfree Day be a showcase for just how our cities might look like, feel like, and sound like without cars…365 days a year.

In our materials and activities ADI and Alzheimer associations across the world will focus on the many issues surrounding the ‘Faces of dementia’. They will be asking if you recognise the face of dementia while paying tribute to those who represent the ‘Faces of dementia’ in all parts of the world and working tirelessly to promote increased support and care for people with dementia and their carers.
Every year on 21 September Alzheimer associations across the globe unite to recognise World Alzheimer’s Day and 2011 will be no exception with events taking place internationally.
