Is it legal? is a popular guide offering welcome clarification of the law for families and all those who work with them. Our brief was to produce a booklet where information is clearly accessible and reflects the ethos of the organisation.The aim is to produce a new edition with a clear text approach, an illustrative feel, and a cover layout that reflects the new brand identity which was recently refreshed. The event’s 10th Anniversary:  this year celebrates 10 years of achievements: since the event started thousands of activities have taken place around the country; more than 70 organisations now take part; over a thousand independent shops, many of the major supermarkets, nine of the largest food service organisations and eight major pub groups have run promotions; retailers report sales increases of 34% as a result; school meals are up 20 – 50% in participating schools; the largest volunteer movement educating people about food has been founded; St Paul’s Cathedral, St Pancras, Harrods, Wembley Stadium, Downing Street and The Archers are just a few of the famous establishments that have taken part; and media coverage about the event is seen or heard over 300 million times every year.

Food you can trust
You can be safe in the knowledge that hydrogenated fats and controversial additives like aspartame, tartrazine and MSG are banned under organic standards.

This years theme is ‘Recycling – Home and Away‘.  It’s all about the positive cumulative effect we can all make by recycling just a little bit more; whether it’s doing more of what we already do at home or starting to recycle at work or while out and about.

What is Recycle Week?
Recycle Week is an annual event and the perfect opportunity to highlight the many ways we can do just a little bit more to help our local environment.  There are lots of easy things we can all do, including:
•    recycling glass jars as well as bottles;
•    recycling things from upstairs as well as downstairs;
•    reusing, recycling or donating unwanted items;
•    recycling at school, work or while out and about.

Spare a thought for the many thousands of animals needing our help each year and do something for RSPCA Week.

The eleventh annual international Compost Awareness Week (CAW) will be celebrated from Sunday 1st to Saturday 7th May 2011 and this is your opportunity to get involved!
CAW 2011 aims to encourage more people to realise the benefits of home composting and the great results that can be achieved by using peat-free composts containing recycled material.
“Compost Awareness Week 2011: Pass It On”
The theme for CAW2011 focuses on community spirit and the concept of ‘passing on’ your composting and garden knowledge. You may want to encourage those already composting, growing their own veg, and just being a ‘greener’ gardener (perhaps using water butts, or peat-free compost) to pass their knowledge and skills on to friends, family and neighbours.
