After the Crash: Building a new economic future the co-operative way a report written by Andrew Bibby and commissioned by The Co-operative Group, was launched at the London School of Economics in November 2009. It suggests that the co-operative business model offers a way to build strong, profitable businesses which are sustainable in the long-term, both environmentally and financially and includes several case studies.

Wayne Hemingway MBE will provide the keynote opening address at the pioneering 3Market event at the University of Southampton on 9 February 2010.
In the first event of its kind, 3MARKET will provide opportunities for businesses to source more ethical products and services from local businesses which are driven by social purpose rather than shareholder gain. Social enterprises are fast becoming an attractive alternative for businesses looking to demonstrate ethical business practices, such as protecting the environment and supporting the local community.

Rights of Women is a women’s voluntary organisation committed to informing, educating and empowering women concerning their legal rights.
Founded in 1975, they offer free confidential legal advice to women on an advice line. Offer specialist advice in family law, divorce and relationship breakdown, children and contact issues, domestic violence, sexual violence, discrimination and lesbian parenting. They provide training for organisations on essential issues concerning women’s rights. Through training they enable individuals and agencies to ensure that they are protecting women’s rights effectively. Rights of Women provide guidance for policy makers, and work to put women’s rights on the public policy agenda. They seek to influence policy by undertaking original research, preparing responses to policy documents from Government and other sources, organising conferences on women’s rights, and holding public meetings. They want women’s voices heard at every stage of public policy formulation. Publications seek to provide education on women’s rights. These include our handbooks, information sheets on key issues of family law, and publications on key issues relating to women and the law.
Total Coverage worked closely with Rights of Women to design, produce and deliver a clear, professional and accessible publication in time for the launch.

Girlguiding Hampshire West is part of Girlguiding UK, which is the largest youth organisation for girls in the UK today, enabling girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference to the world.

Total Coverage was pleased to help the organisation recently with their 09 County Review. The colourful A5 publication was designed to fold out to an A2 wall planner which can be displayed to show key dates on the Girlguiding calendar throughout their centenary year.

County Commissioner Janet Parker told us: “I’ve received the reports and they are great, I am very happy with them! I’ve always been delighted with the friendly service from all the staff, with the quality of the products and with the ability of the company to understand the issues relating to working with a voluntary organisation.”

Following on from the success of the 40th year commemorative materials that we designed for Peter Bedford Housing Association earlier this year, Total Coverage recently assisted the organisation with their annual review in the form of a desk top calendar. Peter Bedford is so thrilled with the publication that they have entered it into the Professional Fundraising (PF) first-ever charity calendar competition. PF has called on charities to submit their calendars for a chance to be crowned the Charity Calendar of the Year, 2010. Calendars will be judged on their originality, design, theme and the link back to the cause. So good luck to Peter Bedford, let’s hope it’s a winner!

Peter Bedford is a Registered Social Landlord offering supported housing, work, training and employment and community services. They work in Islington and Hackney alongside people who have faced long term exclusion from society through homelessness, mental health problems, learning difficulties, or multiple needs.

On 5 October Conservative parliamentary candidate Jesse Norman and political columnist Peter Oborne launched ‘Churchill’s Legacy: The Conservative case for the Human Rights Act’ at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. The short book, published by Liberty in support of the Common Values campaign, recommends that the Conservatives reclaim their historic position as a party of British liberty and the rule of law by dropping their opposition to the Human Rights Act.

Total Coverage worked closely with Liberty to design, produce and deliver the publication so it would be completed in time for the launch. Liberty Campaigns Co-ordinator, Sabina Frediani told us:”I just wanted to let you know that the books went down brilliantly, so thanks very much again for getting everything ready in time! The book received lots of press coverage. It was written about in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian and Mail as well as being discussed on Radio 4’s Today programme on Monday morning.”

Fair Trials International recently approached us to create the identity for the Justice in Europe campaign plus a range of promotional materials.

Fair Trials International is a unique human rights charity. They campaign for fundamental rights for people facing the ordeal of criminal charges in a country other than their own. In addition to providing legal assistance and advocacy to individuals in need, they fight the underlying causes of injustice in cross-border cases through policy interventions, research and training.
Drawing on the real-life examples of injustice that are encountered at Fair Trials International, they campaign for Justice in Europe. To start with, they will fight for the European Arrest Warrant to be improved so it delivers rather than undermines justice.  Under the “Justice in Europe” umbrella,  focus upon on a number of other areas where mutual co-operation without proper safeguards will continue to cause injustice. They will scrutinise other upcoming EU co-operation measures, to ensure they respect basic rights. Where they do not, Fair Trials International will campaign for reform. Alongside this, they will support European efforts to protect basic defence rights, the necessary building blocks of the mutual trust that underlies European co-operation.

Development of a consistent design throughout the supporting materials to ensure easy identification and clear accessible communication of the campaign.
